Norwood used a big third quarter to overcome a first-half deficit and beat host Crane 44-40 in the Crane Lady Pirate Invitational on Saturday.
The host Lady Pirates led 15-11 after one quarter and 23-21 at the half. Out of the break, Norwood came out on fire outscoring Crane 13-4 in the frame to take a 34-27 lead with eight minutes to go in the game. The host Lady Pirates had the fourth-quarter advantage, but Norwood’s cushion was too much as the visiting Lady Pirates held on for five-point win.
Addie Gray led Norwood with 21 points. Jayden Chambers also scored in double figures with 10 points.
Crane was led by an explosive 31-point performance from Lily Woodward.
