The Carl Junction boys wrestling team won the inaugural Ozark Mountain Conference boys tournament team championship on Saturday at Hillcrest with 188.5 points. That was 23.5 points better than runner-up Marshfield.
The Bulldogs led the way with five individual champions in Camdon Kunkel (126), Jaxson Yaple (132), Aaron Dillingham (150), Tony Stewart (175) and Marcus Lopez-Durman (190).
Marshfield was just behind with four individual champions including Mac Mohnen (138), Takoda Gritts (144), Tanner Davidson (157) and Anthony Macrelli (165).
Logan-Rogersville crowned three individual champions on the way to a third place finish with 142 points. Dawson Ritter started the finals off with a win at 106 pounds while Jacob Shinkarevich and Lucas Parris closed the tournament down with titles at 215 and 285.
Bolivar didn’t have an individual champion but finished fourth with 85 points.
Branson was paced by Ryzen Isringhausen’s championship at 120 pounds. He beat Carl Junction’s Carter Foglesong 9-8 in sudden victory to maintain a perfect 40-0 record. The Pirates were fifth as a team with 81 points.
Hillcrest got one champions from Ean Campbell at 113 pounds on the way to a sixth place finish with 73.5 points.
West Plains rounded out the team scoring with 28.5 points in seventh place.
