Chadwick holds off Bunker in second half to win fifth straight district title

Chadwick held off a second-half rally from Bunker to win the program’s fifth consecutive district championship on Saturday.

The Lady Cardinals built a 10-8 lead after one quarter. In the second quarter, Chadwick was firing on all cylinders with a 14-3 advantage in the frame to take a 24-11 lead into the break.

Bunker came out equally as hot as Chadwick was in the second quarter with a 14-5 advantage to cut the Lady Cardinal lead to four at 29-25. The teams matched each other in the fourth quarter with 10 points each giving Chadwick its fifth straight district title.

Chadwick was led by 17 points from Rae Little and 11 points from Macy Landry.

The Lady Cardinals travel to face Delta in the state sectional round on Tuesday. The two teams have met each of the last two seasons with Delta winning last year and Chadwick taking the game two seasons ago.
