Norwood advances to third consecutive Class 2 final four

Norwood used a strong fourth quarter to beat Marionville 41-37 and advance to the program’s third consecutive final four.

The Lady Pirates and Marionville were tight throughout the game tied after one and three quarters.

In the fourth quarter, Norwood had the best offensive quarter of the game with 12 points to Marionville’s 8 to secure the win. Half of those points came from freshman Kalie Chadwell who scored a game-high 16 points in the win.

Norwood will play in a final four for the third consecutive season. Each of the past two trips have ended in fourth place finishes.

Marionville was led by 10 points from Dally Pomeroy.

Norwood advances to face Class 2 defending state champion Skyline at 12 pm on Friday in Columbia in the Class 2 state semifinal round.
