Coming in to Friday's 1A state championship game, Viola had lost just twice all year.
One of those was in the region championship to Armorel.
Now, they've fallen to the Tigers twice.
Armorel knocked off the Longhorns, 13-1 in five innings, to win the Arkansas 1A state championship.
"They're pretty good," said Viola head coach Clayton Gardner. "They hit the ball around, they're athletic, they're deep."
Armorel scored in every inning, including a seven-run outburst in the second. Viola got on the board in the fourth, when Keagen Dunn drove in Trevor Himcshoot–who had tripled earlier in the inning–with a single up the middle off the Tiger pitcher.
Viola had chances early, and hit balls squarely, but right at Tiger defenders.
"Through the state tournament, we had some bounces go our way, some balls that dropped and fell," Gardner said. "Today, that didn't happen."
Viola finishes the year 30-3 overall, with two of their three losses coming at the hands of the Armorel Tigers.
