Des Moines, Iowa — Grand View ended Saturday's game with Evangel on a 7-0 run in the final 1:11 spoiling a Crusaders comeback in an 89-82 win in Des Moines, Iowa.

Evangel never led in the second half but rallied from 10 points down with four minutes remaining to tie the game at 82-82 on a Nick Yocum three-pointer. The Crusaders never had a lead in the second half and forged the only tie on Yocum's 23-foot bomb.

Yocum hit nine three-pointers and scored a career high 31 points for Evangel. Cody Geiger added 17.

The Vikings responded with free throws by Kerry Green, Jjuan Hadnot and a three-point basket by Sam Skogen while shutting Evangel out in the game's final minute.

Grand View shot 53 percent from the field hitting 30 of 57 shots.

"The most disappointing thing to me was that we couldn't get stops when we needed them," said Evangel head coach Steve Jenkins. "They've got some guys that can get to the rim and, when they wanted to, they either got there or we fouled them when they were trying to get there."

The Vikings hot shooting extended to the free throw line where they went 24 for 26.

The loss dropped Evangel to 4-16 and 3-9 in the Heart of America conference. Grand View improved to 10-9 and 4-8 in the league.

The Crusaders are back at home on Wednesday when they host Central Methodist. Game time is 7:30 p.m. in the Ashcroft Center.
