It wasn’t a surprise, but both Missouri and Arkansas officially learned they are headed to the NCAA Tournament Sunday evening.
Mizzou (20-12) is back in the tournament for the first time in five seasons. The Tigers are an 8-seed and will face 9-seed Florida State Friday, 8:50 pm in Nashville as part of the West Region.
This is Mizzou’s 27th NCAA Tournament appearance. First year head coach Cuonzo Martin is 2-2 all-time, taking Tennessee to the Sweet 16 in 2013-14 and California, losing in the first round in 2015-16.
Arkansas (23-11) is dancing for the third time in four years. The Razorbacks are a 7-seed in the East Region and will face 10-seed Butler on Friday, 2:10 pm in Detroit, Mich.
The Hogs have won eight of their last 11 games. This is Arkansas’ 32nd NCAA Tournament appearance. Head coach Mike Anderson is 9-8 all-time.
