Warsaw volleyball will be looking to turn things around after going 2-26 overall last season. Six varsity players return for coach Charlotte Beck’s second season.
That group of returning players includes: Brooke Spry (senior setter), Lea Mebruer (senior setter), Taylor Spry (senior defensive specialist), Rheanna Coke (senior right side), Bella Morrison (junior left side) and Ellie Murrell (sophomore setter/middle). Murrell was named second-team all-conference last year.
Junior Emma Johnson along with sophomores Ashlyn Laue and Ashley Spry will be new varsity contributors this year.
Warsaw will also get a boost with softball moving from a fall sport to the spring.

“Softball will be moving back to the spring this year. Because of that volleyball will gain a few upperclassmen who haven’t had the opportunity to play before. I’m excited about the talent, competitiveness and leadership they’ll add to our program,” Beck said.
Overall, Beck is excited for what her second year as head coach of Warsaw will bring.
“As a new coach last year I threw a lot of stuff at the girls. They handled it well and are adjusting to my style. I saw a lot of improvement as the season progressed. We’ll be looking to carry that into this year and hopefully start to see their work payoff on game day. The girls have great attitudes and are ready to be back. I’m excited to get the season going,” Beck said.
Warsaw opens the season on Sept. 1 at Buffalo.
