Warsaw boys basketball will be looking to bounce back from a five-win season last year behind two returning starters.
Senior guard Trey Palmer was the team’s leading scorer last year averaged 13.9 points per game along with 2.4 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game. The three-year starter was named second-team all-conference as a junior.
Junior Brady Slavens is Warsaw’s second returning starter. He averaged nine points and 5.3 rebounds per game as a sophomore.

James Kellner (junior post), Austin Brazel (senior guard), Grant Chapman (junior guard) and George Montez (sophomore guard) all also return. Kellner started in 15 games last year averaging 2.8 points and 2.7 rebounds per game. Brazel saw action in 13 games last year. Montez played in 18 games as a freshman.
Tayten Boyer is a transfer from Glendale that should have an immediate impact.
Athleticism and team cohesiveness will be strengths for Warsaw this year according to coach Scott Floyd. Varsity and experience and depth will be weaknesses for the Wildcats.
Warsaw opens the season on Nov. 24 at home against Stockton.
