Lady Panthers drop to No. 4 in latest national rankings

SPRINGFIELD, Mo.— The Drury Lady Panthers are ranked fourth in this week’s NCAA-II coaches’ poll. Drury is 19-2, 9-1 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference, and went 1-1 last week with a 67-66 loss at Truman State on Jan. 19 and an 82-56 win at home over Southwest Baptist. The Lady Panthers dropped three spots from number one last week to fourth this week.

Glenville State (16-0) moved up two spots to take over the number one position in this week’s poll, with Ashland (14-1) ranked second and Azusa Pacific (12-1) third. Drury received two first-place votes while being ranked fourth.

This week’s poll marks the 128th consecutive week the Lady Panthers have been ranked in the top 25, the longest streak in the nation. It is also their 66th straight week in the top 10. Drury has been ranked in the top four in all 10 national polls this season.

The Lady Panthers are home twice this week as they host Maryville on Tuesday at 5:45 pm and Missouri S&T for Overflow the O’ presented by O’Reilly Auto Parts on Saturday at 1 pm. Tickets to both the men’s and women’s game on Saturday are $5 with the first 1,000 in attendance receiving a free t-shirt.
