One-Loss Thayer Handed Gainesville Its First Loss And Please, Play Again Soon

Thayer and Gainesville could each very well be in the Class 2 Final Four this year, so the two matching up this late in the season was an absolute treat. Thayer came into Thursday night with a 17-1 record, only having lost to Bay, Ark. Gainesville? They were 17-0. The cool part about these two is that before the season neither team was really expected to be in this position right now. They were under-the-radar. Overlooked. Yet here they are, two of the best in Class 2 putting on one of the best shows of the season.

Thayer Tops Salem Behind Stone’s 29, Now 10-0

Not yet a month into the season, the Thayer Lady Bobcats now have 10 good reasons to forget about last year. Julie Stone scored a game-high 29 points—with 16 coming in the fourth quarter—as Class 2 Thayer (10-0) stayed perfect with a win over Class 4 Salem (3-3) in one of its toughest early tests.
